Create a quiz assignment

This article is for teachers with a Google Workspace for Educational activity account. If you don't know your Google Workspace account, enquire your administrator.

You can create a quiz consignment in Classroom where students complete and submit a Google Forms quiz. You lot can assign the quiz assignment to one or more classes or to individual students, schedule it to post later, add together a due date and time, and add attachments.

Google Forms tin can automatically grade the quiz and you can import the grades into Classroom. Students tin can see their grades immediately or after you review their answers. You can also lock a quiz on Chromebooks managed by your school.

Step i: Create the consignment

  1. Click the courseand then Classwork.
  2. At the pinnacle, click Create and then Quiz assignment.

Lock a quiz on Chromebooks

If students are using Chromebooks managed by your school, you tin can lock the Chromebook while they have a quiz. When the Chromebook is locked, students can't open up other browser tabs. Create a quiz confirmation message

When students submit a quiz in Forms, they go a confirmation message. You tin customize this message for any Forms quiz. For example, yous might desire to give students a date that you'll class and return their answers.

Import quiz grades from Forms to Classroom

To import grades:

  • Students are limited to one response and must be in the same domain as the teacher.
  • The class must collect student email addresses.

If you modify any of these settings or edit the assignment after you save or post it, you might not be able to import grades.

Tip: If you lot adhere a class as a link in Classroom, you can't import student grades.

Import quiz grades

When you lot import grades, all grades are imported. Yous can't select some grades to import. When you import the grades, the import overrides any current grades for the assignment. Therefore, if the Forms quiz is only one function of an assignment, import the quiz grades first.

To import grades:

  1. Click a courseand then Classwork.
  2. Click the consignment with the quizand then View Assignment.
  3. On the Student Work page, click Import Grades.

    Note: If you don't run into Import grades, your form wasn't gear up equally a quiz or you didn't plow on Class importing when you created the assignment.

  4. Click Import.

Classroom enters grades for each educatee. If you didn't assign points, the assignment is labeled ungraded.

Alter grades after import

The grades in Forms and Classroom are separate. If yous modify the grades in Forms after you import them to Classroom, click Import grades to bring the new grades into Classroom and overwrite the previous grades.

See student answers and render grades

To see student answers:

  1. Click the gradeand then Classwork.
  2. On the quiz assignment, click the quiz attachment.
    View responses
  3. Click Edit"" and then Responses.

To return grades to students:

  1. Click the classand then Classwork.
  2. Click the quiz consignment.
  3. On the left, select the students you want to return grades to.
  4. Click Return and then Return to confirm.
